8B52 "The Radio Traveler" or "Voyageur"
An extremely ingenious time-switch clock with a dial which indicates the time in important parts of the globe. Designed for use by radio fans--particularly short-wave and distance seekers. A radio receiver, plugged into the back of this model, will be switched on a 1/2 minute before the program starts, giving the set time to warm up. Moulded case in mottled walnut finish. Double, gold-finished (brass) bezel enclosing the control pins. May also be used with other appliances to turn them on and off for periods of not less than 15 minutes. Self-starting, sealed in oil movement. Six-foot, all-rubber cord set. Switch capacity 600 watts....
The Voyageur was sold later and didn't have the different cities on the dial. I guess this confused people buying this for an appliance timer. This was the companion to the Telechron Organizer. The most notable differences being this one wasn't designed by Walter Dorwin Teague, had the time zone dial and always carried a rubber cord. I think it's really interesting that G.E. clocks of the Thirties featured rubber cords three or four years before they were standard on Telechrons. If you have a chance to buy one of these, do. They're super.
